Safety Coordinator – Omaha, NE

Location: Omaha, NE

Job Description: The Safety Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of safety and  training in the facility. Confidentiality is a must. Employee will conduct audits on   Chemicals, keep SDS system up to date and make sure all chemicals in plant are properly labeled. Conduct monthly safety meetings and chair monthly safety committee meetings Do daily walkthroughs concentrating on PPE, Ergonomics, Eye wash stations, and   work orders. Will make sure Near Miss forms are turned in / tracked. . Will conduct trainings trainings as needed: Lockout/Tagout, Forklift and Pallet Jack, Fall Protection.  Will Help conduct yearly evacuation drills and new hire orientation as needed.   Will do JSA training as needed including yearly recertification. Will Work with Physical Therapy company on scheduling appointments and distributing results. Will work with  Supervisors on completing Incident/Accident investigations. All the above tasks will have to be verified and tracked into computer via Excel, Word, Outlook, Workflow scan system

Job Qualifications: Employee must be able to verbally understand and execute work Instructions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and ascending/descending stairs.  Specific visual abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Fill out required Processing, Quality, and/or Maintenance Documents. Exposures to temperatures of an average of 38  to 28 degrees depending on the work assignment. The employee may encounter   wet floors and/or damp areas. The employee will encounter meat products including blood/fat pieces. Bilingual (Spanish/English) REQUIRED. The employee is required to follow all safety rules in place at the time of employment and encouraged to inform management.              

Pay starting at $24.00/hr DOE (depending on experience)
Hours: 6AM-4PM
