Safety Coordinator

Location: Omaha, NE

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of safety and training in the facility.
Employee confidentiality is a must – Candidate will be trained on HIPPA and required to adhere to these regulations as well as maintaining confidentiality with any other employee/company classified information.
•The following list of responsibilities is not meant to be all inclusive as specific job duties may change. Other tasks may be required and assigned as needed.

Tasks:
•Chemicals – audit Chemicals and keep SDS book up to date. Conduct Chemical mixing training as needed. Make sure chemicals in plant are properly labeled.
•Conduct monthly safety meetings and chair monthly safety committee meeting
•Do Daily walkthroughs concentrating on employee PPE, Ergonomics, Eye wash stations, submit work orders
•Conduct following training as needed: Lockout/Tagout, Forklift and Pallet Jack, Fall Protection
•Conduct facility Inspections and make sure Near Miss forms are turned in / tracked.
•Help conduct yearly evacuation drills
•Conduct new hire orientation as needed
•Conduct JSA training as needed including yearly recertification
•Work with Physical Therapy companies on scheduling \Therapy appointments and distributing results.
•Work with Supervisors on completing Incident/Accident investigations.
•All of the above tasks will have to be verified and tracked into computer system via Excel, Word, Outlook email, Workflow scan system, etc

•Must be able to verbally understand and execute work Instructions
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, reach. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and ascending / descending stairs
•Specific visual abilities required by this job may also include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
•Fill out required Processing, Quality, and/or Maintenance Documents

Work Environment:
•Exposures to temperatures of an average of 38 to 28 degrees depending on the work assignment.
•The employee may encounter wet floors and/or damp areas
•The employee will encounter meat products including blood/fat pieces
•Bilingual preferred

Safety:
•The employee is required to follow all safety rules in place at the time of employment and encouraged to inform management of any perceived safety deficiencies.
